1. Privacy is Core

At TypeAssist, we believe your writing, thoughts, and source code are private. We designed TypeAssist so that it is impossible for us or anyone else to intercept, read, or monetize the text you type. Our business model is simple: we sell desktop software, not your data.

2. 100% Local, On-Device AI

The core autocomplete engine, text analysis models, and prediction logic run entirely on your local Mac (optimized for Apple Silicon).

• No keystrokes, text inputs, or autocomplete suggestions are ever transmitted to our servers.
• No network requests are fired when generating completions or suggestions.
• Your writing and completion history is stored locally in an encrypted database on your machine, accessible only to the TypeAssist client.

3. Information We Collect

We collect the minimum amount of information required to fulfill your purchase and prevent software piracy:

• Account & Billing Info: When you purchase a license via Stripe, we receive your email, transaction date, and payment status. We never see or store your full credit card number.
• Licensing & Activations: When you activate TypeAssist, the app sends a secure, hashed hardware identifier (CPU/UUID hash) and your license key to verify and register your device slot. This information is anonymized and only used to enforce device slot limits.
• Server Logs: Our web servers collect standard, ephemeral request logs (such as IP addresses and timestamps) to prevent DDoS attacks, abuse, and secure the portal.

4. No AI Model Training

We do not collect or upload your inputs, and your text is **never** used to train AI models (neither ours nor third parties).

5. Third-Party Services

We use third-party services only for essential infrastructure operations:

• Stripe: Fulfills card payments, billing portals, and transaction processing.
• Resend: Dispatches secure sign-in magic links and license keys to your email inbox.

6. Data Retention & Deletion

We retain license and account record metadata indefinitely to ensure you can retrieve your license keys. If you want us to permanently delete your email, transaction records, and license keys from our system, contact us at the address below. Note that this will deactivate any active installs of the software.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes (e.g. introducing any cloud processing), we will notify you by email.
